Aircrew size: Student height must be from 64 inches to 77 inches tall. Sitting height must be from 34 inches to 40 inches.
IF YOUR MIL, CLASS I/IA HAS A WAIVER, I.E. FOR GLASSES YOU MUST IN-PROCESS IFS WITH GLASSES. THIS WILL APPLY FOR ANY WAIVER, NO MATTER WHAT THE FAA CLASS III STATES.
Medical Requirements :
PILOT & WSO/CSO CANDIDATES WITH NO CIVILIAN FLIGHT RATING
1. Obtain a CURRENT student pilot certificate and complete a FAA Class III medical examination (same form) and have the certificate in your possession during in-processing. The FAA student pilot certificate is good for two years from issue.
Note: Failure to produce the appropriate FAA certificate will result in training delays and highlight you in a negative manner. Lost certificates may result in an additional exam at your own expense.
Pilot candidates will normally complete the FAA examination while at Medical Flight Screening (MFS). If you will not accomplish MFS prior to IFS you must complete and pay for the examination at your current duty location, using a local FAA certified aviation medical examiner. Keep your receipt for reimbursement (see below).
ALL CSO candidates (except those who already possess a civilian flight rating) must complete and pay for the examination at their current duty location, using a local FAA certified aviation medical examiner. Keep your reciept for reimbursement (see below).
2. Additionally, all candidates must obtain proof of a military Class 1 (Pilot) or Class 1A (CSO) flight physical (to include any waivers) and have the certificate (and waivers) in your possession during in-processing.
Note: Failure to produce proof of a military Class 1 (Pilot) or Class 1A (CSO/WSO) medical clearance will result in training delays and highlight you in a negative manner.
PILOT & WSO/CSO CANDIDATES WITH A CIVILIAN FLIGHT RATING
1. All pilot and CSO candidates in possession of a Private Pilot's License (or higher rating) must ensure their current FAA medical certificate is valid for the duration of the course and have the certificate in your possession during in-processing.
Note: Failure to produce the appropriate FAA certificate will result in training delays and highlight you in a negative manner. Lost certificates may result in an additional exam at your own expense.

FAA Medical Exam Reimbursement Process
To be reimbursed, log on to www.e-publishing.af.mil.
In the Short Title Section, type SF1164, hit go.
Click on Standard Forms (SF) at Dept. of Defense.
Double click on the appropriate program (PDF recommended).
Select SF1164.
The following statement will need to be typed on the SF1164 " Due to the unique nature of the training at the 1st Flying Training Squadron, and the requirement to have a civilian FAA Class 3 medical certificate prior to arriving for training, there was a requirement to procure this certificate with my personal funds. I certify this claim is true, correct and proper and that payment or credit has not been received". (SIGNED BY CLAIMANT)
At the top of the form print "Pueblo IFS Inbound Student" and fax along with your receipt to DSN: 333-9206 or Comm: 719-333-9206.
Request for reimbursement will be processed by 19AF/A3U.
