Doss Initial Flight Screening

Inprocessing Uniform:

Inprocessing will occur in the AF blues, short sleeve shirt. See CC letter.

You will be turned away if you report in civillian clothes, unshaven or in need of a haircut.

Uniform Requirements :

Students must attempt to procure two flight suits, one light weight summer jacket and one pair of flight gloves from your base Individual Equipment Issue (IEU).

Flight suits and jackets must have rank and Velcro sewn on.

Patches and nametags will be issued during inprocessing. If your unit and base cannot provide the required flying equipment, determine appropriate sizes for the equipment (try them on at IEU) and include your sizes in the IFS Pre-Arrival Checklist.

If your IFS training will occur anytime between November and March, also attempt to procure one set of thermal underwear from your IEU.

Jackets will neither be needed nor issued here between the May-August timeframe.

Bring one pair of combat boots.

It is the responsibility of the student to purchase and bring Air Force PT gear.

While not a requirement, kneedboards and logbooks are utilized by most students. While these items may be purchased at any online aviation store, you are encouraged to purchase them in the IFS shopette.
